An ABC Studios memo to showrunners explaining how to go about developing series based on foreign TV shows was made public, Web site Deadline Hollywood Daily reports. The memo, which describes how to go about adopting a series in a manner that eliminates other rights holders from becoming involved, is being criticized as a “blatant blueprint to rip off foreign TV series,” the Web site says.
