Emmy Nominees Share Labor Views

Many SAG members took their recent Emmy nominations announcement as a chance to express concern over the current union’s stalemate with the studios, the Hollywood Reporter says. Ted Danson, who was nominated for supporting actor in a drama, says that while he still supports SAG as a “union man,” he hopes that the two sides will find a compromise soon. Kevin Spacey, nominated for lead actor in a movie or miniseries, urges the two to “get the town back to work,” speculating that the contested areas of DVD and new media compensation will not be big enough to warrant shutting down Hollywood right now because a renegotiation is possible in another three years.
