Marilyn Shapiro, who helped guide actress Bonnie Franklin’s career from Broadway to her starring role on “One Day at a Time,” died earlier this week in Los Angeles at age 77, Daily Variety says. Shapiro, who started her career as an Off-Broadway producer, later formed a company with Franklin that produced TV projects including “Your Place or Mine” and “Sister Margaret and the Saturday Night Ladies,” the newspaper says.
