High gas prices and a weak economy may be just what television programmers need to get viewers to stay home and watch their shows, USA Today reports. Total viewing on the Big 4 TV networks is up for the first summer in years. Cable viewing is also up this summer with high-profile shows including “Burn Notice,” “Monk,” “Psych,” and “Army Wives” adding viewers from last year, the paper says.
