Former local reporter Penny Crone is now selling real estate in New York, where her raspy voice and willingness to try on-air stunts made her a memorable TV figure for years, the New York Observer reports. Ms. Crone’s contract with Fox station WNYW-TV was not renewed in 2005 and she worked for Howard Stern’s satellite radio show for a while. “News now is for young people—it really is,” she tells the paper, adding, “It’s not easy when you’re 60 to say, ‘O.K., I’m going to reinvent myself.'”
