ABC News “Nightline” has been on a winning streak, but the program could be dead in its track if the network manages to sign Jay Leno when he concludes his reign with the “Tonight” show, the Los Angeles Times says. ABC executives said it was premature to address the issue because the network can’t negotiate with Leno until his NBC deal expires at the end of 2009, according to the paper.
