Privately funded production company American Saga Prods. has ordered a pilot for “Station House,” an hourlong reality series about firefighters, Daily Variety reports. Also, the patriotically oriented production house has hired “24” co-creator Robert Cochran to develop a four-hour miniseries about the building of the transcontinental railroad, based on Stephen Ambrose’s book “Nothing Like It in the World,” the newspaper says. Additionally, former Paramount TV President Garry Hart has become a consultant to American Saga, the newspaper notes.

  1. If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.
