Staffers who attended a birthday lunch for Joe Ahern, general manager at CBS-owned WBBM-TV in Chicago, got billed for the meal after an attempt to expense it got rejected, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. WBBM’s controller went to department heads seeking personal checks of $100 or more to cover the tab, the paper says. A spokesperson for Ahern had no comment.
