Announcers Get Lessons from NBA Refs

Several local and national sports announcers participated in a workshop about refereeing held by the National Basketball Association, the New York Times reports. The seminar is part of the NBA’s attempt to educate broadcasters about officials and their duties. While refs are often the subjects of criticism, the NBA hopes that through education the second-guessing during games will be more accurate and fair, the newspaper says.
