All eyes are on tonight’s season premiere of NBC’s “Friday Night Lights” on DirecTV, the Los Angeles Times reports. The 13-episode season will run commercial-free starting this week on DirecTV in an unusual deal maneuvered by NBC Entertainment Co-Chairman Ben Silverman that has the satellite company subsidizing the series’ costs to run it without commercials. The L.A. Times predicts such deals one will become more common in the future, given the recent ratings struggles of NBC series such as “Heroes.”
