“There are obviously fair comparisons,” J.J. Abrams tells the L.A. Times today about his new Fox show “Fringe” and its similarity to “The X-Files.” Federal agents investigating the weird and unknown are apparently where the similarities end. “‘Fringe’ differentiates itself very quickly in terms of different characters and tone,” Abrams, executive producer of “Fringe,” tells the newspaper.
