Gustav Changes News Coverage, RNC Plans

News and media outlets have used their experience from covering the devastation of Hurricane Katrina three years ago to prepare for Gustav, the Hollywood Reporter says. As the Republican National Convention prepares for its start in St. Paul Minn., many major outlets and networks sent their top talent to the gulf region in anticipation with plenty of staff members and supplies in tow, the trade says. Plans for the RNC will be decided on a day-by-day basis depending on the damage caused by the storm. Sen. John McCain is scheduled to make his party’s presidential nomination acceptance speech on Thursday.
