Gwen Ifill Down but Not Out

Sep 30, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Gwen Ifill, host of PBS’ “Washington Week With Gwen Ifill” and moderator for Thursday’s vice presidential debate between Sen. Joe Biden and Gov. Sarah Palin, broke her ankle Monday night, TVNewser reports. Ifill was walking up a flight of stairs at home while carrying research related to her moderating duties when she tripped and fell. However, she still plans to be at St. Louis’ Washington University to moderate the debate, the Web site says.

  1. I’m surprised that they did not talk about the controversy over her hosting the VeePee debates, and the conflict of interest. That might just play into this story, since it mentioned “research” and the debate.

  2. Me, too. Perhaps the story was written before Drudge spilled the beans about her new book on Obama, slated to appear on January 20.
Maybe she was carrying notes for her next fawning book on Obama.

  3. Yup, just another reason to totally ignore PBS. Guess that now stands for Pretty Blatant Sh*t.

  4. Well, sorry to say that she is also on other programs, other than her 2 PBS ones.
She, in my opinion, already was compromised…from when she appeared on George Stephanopolis’ show. I guess our tax dollars aren’t enough for her!
I’m actually shocked she came down from the pedestal to appear on his show, really. Seems her shows are too Hoytee Toytee, so being on anything lower crust than the “News Hour” or “Washington Week,” is a shock!
