PBS’s Gwen Ifill next month will moderate the debate between Sarah Plain and Joe Biden in what is likely to be the most-watched vice presidential debate ever, the Associated Press reports. Ms. Ifill doesn’t think she has to be pushy with the candidates. “People who watch these debates are incredibly engaged,” she tells the wire service. “I don’t have to chase the candidates around the table to make them answer questions. The people will know whether a question has been answered or not.” Ms. Ifill’s first job as a debate moderator came in 2004 when vice presidential candidates Dick Cheney and John Edwards squared off.
