Market Drop Puts Media Deals on Hold

Some of the biggest names in media have weighed in on the effect of troubles facing Wall Street, and the prospect of big media deals being completed under current conditions does not look good, Portfolio reports. Speaking at a breakfast discussion held by the magazine, NBC Universal’s Jeff Zucker, Quadrangle’s Steven Rattner and Sirius Satellite Radio’s Mel Karmazin all agreed that recent events have exacerbated an already slow year. Zucker reinterated that General Electric is not looking to sell NBC Universal. Investment conferences may also suffer, the Hollywood Reporter says.
