Republican presidential candidate John McCain has bought additional advertising time on the major broadcast networks, TelevisionWeek reports. Both presidential candidates took the unusual step of buying national ads during the Olympics. Usually political campaign concentrate their spending in local markets in battleground states. McCain’s new network ads began during the tail end of last week, designed to take advantage of the attention generated by vice presidential nominees Sarah Palin’s introduction at the Republican National Convention, TVWeek says.
