Broadcast evening newscasts have been experiencing a steady decline in viewership, but as the 2007-08 fall TV season wrapped up last week, “NBC Nightly News” saw a slight increase in viewers for the year, the New York Times reports. The gains at “Nightly” were offset by declines at ABC and CBS, the newspaper says. Overall viewership for the three network newscasts dropped to 22.8 million from 23.5 the season before.
