No Hard Feelings Between Fontana, Silverman

Despite being replaced, Tom Fontana, creator of NBC’s upcoming midseason replacement “The Philanthropist,” harbors no ill will toward NBC Entertainment Co-Chair Ben Silverman, he tells Broadcasting & Cable. The falling out grew out of the fact that the two couldn’t agree on most things, from the show’s casting to its premise. Fontana, whose producing credits include “St. Elsewhere,” “Homicide: Life on the Street” and “Oz,” still wants nothing but good things to happen for the series. “Ben Silverman believes he knows what the American public wants to watch. Listen, I hope he’s right,” Fontana told B&C.
