SAG Agonies: Election Nears

A new Screen Actors Guild poll finds that 87% of the union membership support continuing negotiations with Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers and not accepting the current “final” offer on the table from the media companies, the Hollywood Reporter says. The poll, however, only received answers from 10% of the union’s membership, and the producers criticize the questions used and studios as biased toward generating favorable answers for SAG, the trade says. A union board election to be tallied Thursday will provide insight on how determined the union is to keep fighting for a new contract, the Wall Street Journal says.
