Silverman Focus Shifts to Business

Amid speculation of NBC co-chairman Ben Silverman’s numbered days at the network, NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker says Silverman will be around “for a long time to come,” according to the Los Angeles Times, which takes the latest look at NBC’s embattled programming chief. Zucker credits Silverman for successfully reaching the network’s financial goals, pointing to $1.9 billion in upfront ad sales for its prime time schedule. Zucker says the media attention Silverman has received comes from the fact that Silverman “is not bound by the old rules of doing business, and that scares a lot of people in Hollywood,” Zucker tells the newspaper.
