Telemundo has acquired the broadcast rights for some key Mexican soccer matches from Grupo Televisa, Dow Jones reports. The deal includes home games from six of the country’s first-division teams, playoffs and the national championships. Televisa is currently involved in a lawsuit with Univision seeking to end their program-license agreement for a variety of series the Mexican company provides to Univision, including popular soap operas. Telemundo already signed a deal to provide Televisa with Spanish-language content produced in the U.S. for broadcast in Mexico.
