Producer Laura Ziskin has previously worked on two Academy Awards broadcasts, but on Friday she takes on a TV event that hits close to home, the Los Angeles Times reports. Ziskin is the woman responsible for putting together “Stand Up to Cancer,” a TV fundraiser set to simultaneously broadcast across several networks in an effort to raise money for cancer research. Ziskin herself has fought the battle against breast cancer, the newspaper says.
