TV Shows: Richer and Richer

It’s hard being a teenager these days, but wouldn’t it be harder if you were a poor teenager? Well thank goodness for television! The New York Times delves in the phenomenon that’s seen the rich become richer and the middle class become virtually non-existent when it comes to teenage drama shows. It all began with Fox’s “Beverly Hills, 90210” in 1990 and is seen today in The CW’s “Gossip Girl,” “Privileged” and, ahem, “90210.”
