WGA Elects Aggressive Directors

Following a strike that nearly closed down the TV and movie industries, the Writers Guild of America elected directors likely to remain assertive when the next round of contract talks begin in 2011, Daily Variety reports. The top vote getter was Katherine Fugate of Lifetime’s “Army Wives,” who served as a strike captain and told the trade paper that enforcing the new media provisions in the guild’s contract with the studios would be a top priority.
