Disney Media Networks Latin America is teaming up with Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic for a regional version of “The Amazing Race” in Latin America, Daily Variety reports. Pre-production for the project will begin in January, with the series expected to debut through Latin America and the Caribbean late in 2009, the trade paper says. Disney Latin America will also distribute all Disney and non-Disney branded content throughout Hispanic markets in the U.S., following last year’s move for the regional version of “Desperate Housewives” to Univision, the trade adds.
