The BBC has indefinitely suspended actor and comedian Russell Brand, along with fellow comedian Jonathan Ross, for leaving what it says were lewd phone messages for actor Andrew Sachs that were broadcast Oct. 18 on Brand’s radio show, the Associated Press reports. Brand and Ross, who have apologized, received about 18,000 complaints about the calls, which included Ross jokingly saying that Brand slept with Sachs’ granddaughter, the wire service says.
