NBC’s “Crusoe,” the adventure series based on Daniel Defoe’s “Robinson Crusoe,” makes a “hectic and handsome” debut Friday night, the Washington Post says. The show manages to break away from the standard fare of medical or crime procedural dramas already on TV, thought the premiere episode is a series of chases for the title character, played by Philip Winchester. Also making an appearance are a band of pirates and buried treasure , the newspaper says.
