Tuesday night’s presidential debate between Republican Sen. John McCain and Democratic Sen. Barack Obama drew 63.2 million viewers across 11 channels, TelevisionWeek reports, citing Nielsen Media Research data. Although some 27 million more people watched the second face-off between the candidates compared to the first debate on Sept. 26, the audience fell short of the almost 70 million people who tuned in to watch the vice-presidential debate between Sen. Joe Biden and Gov. Sarah Palin last week, TVWeek says.
