Economic Woes Slow HD Sales

Consumer may be slowing purchases of high-end luxuries like high-definition television sets, the Wall Street Journal says. That slowdown may affect companies like DirecTV Group Inc., which is banking on consumer buying HD sets to spur its growth. A report by MasterCard’s SpendingPulse service showed spending in the electronics category fell by 14% year over year in September, the paper says.
