Former “The Simpsons” writer-producer Larry Doyle won this year’s Thurber Prize for American Humor in honor of his novel, “I Love You, Beth Cooper,” the Associated Press notes. Doyle will receive $5,000 for his portrayal of high school with all its pimply angst and glory, the wire service notes.
