Your next favorite show may have roots in France, the Hollywood Reporter says. Gallic TV programs are becoming more and more fashionable these days, proved by NBC’s adaptation of “XIII,” a hit for France’s Canal Plus network. Rights to the miniseries, based on the popular comic book by Jean Van Hamme and William Vance and starring Val Kilmer and Stephen Dorff, cost about $2.7 million. Drew Barrymore is also interested a French series of her own. The dramedy “Clara Scheller,” about a young single woman living with her gay best friend, is said to have piqued the actress’ interest.
