Controversy has reared its ugly head around Thursday night’s vice presidential debate moderator, PBS’ Gwen Ifill, CNN is reporting. According to the news network, conservative Web sites NationalReview.com and WorldNetDaily.com are criticizing Ifill for what they see as a conflict of interest. Ifill is the author of the upcoming book “Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama,” to be released in January. Sen. John McCain told Fox News he has no problems with Ifill moderating the debate, and he assured CNN that Ifill will be professional during the debate between VP candidates Sen. Joe Biden and Gov. Sarah Palin.
