Democratic and Republican campaign organizers breathed a sigh of relief for the most part after Thursday night’s vice-presidential prime-time debate, the Associated Press reports. Many viewers tuned in to see Republican nominee Sarah Palin fresh from her “bumbling interview performances” and Democrat Joe Biden’s “unpredictable streak,” the wire service says. However, “people who came to the debate hoping to see a fiasco, to see Palin make colossal gaffes, had to have been disappointed,” the Washington Post says.
