“Saturday Night Live’s” first election-themed special leading up to the November elections provided a “splendid” 30 minutes of comedy, even without an appearance by Tina Fey’s Sarah Palin impression, the Washington Post says. NBC plans to air three special Thursday night prime time editions of “SNL” leading up to Election Day, the newspaper says. Thursday night’s episode featured a spoof of this week’s second presidential debate, an extended segment of “Weekend Update” and a guest appearance by Bill Murray.
