New York City’s CW affiliate is going back to its roots, the New York Daily News reports. The station is dropping the CW from its name and will now be using its original call letters, WPIX-TV, to celebrate its 60th anniversary. “The words WPIX and PIX just have a very positive meaning and a very good place in people’s hearts here in New York,” station President and General Manager Betty Ellen Berlamino tells the paper. “WPIX is part of New York, WPIX is New York. Along the way we may have kind of forgotten that.”
