Boston Plans December DTV Test

Nov 14, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Boston’s TV stations have scheduled a five-minute DTV test for Dec. 9, the Boston Globe reports. The soft shutdown is designed to let viewers know whether their TV sets are compatible with digital broadcasts in preparation for the national switch from analog to digital format on Feb. 17. Those ready for the switch during the test will receive a message telling them they’re ready, and those who aren’t will get a message telling viewers how to get ready for the February deadline, the newspaper says.
