Various broadcasters, government officials and others involved convened Monday at Washington’s Newseum to mark the final 100 days before the national transition to digital TV, Broadcasting & Cable reports. The event featured a lot of mutual admiration between the government and the broadcasting industry, Broadcasting & Cable says, but potential problems and concerns with the transition still found their way into the discussion. “As we learned from our tests in Wilmington, N.C., and seven soft analog tests we participated in in various markets around the country, Nielsen has underestimated by potentially up to 40%-50% the actual number of people who will need cable, satellite or a converter box,” said Univision CEO Joe Uva.
