Election Not Over Soon Enough for Networks

The broadcast networks are hoping for brighter days now that the election has passed, the Los Angeles Times reports. With the campaign headlines and the Wall Street crisis stealing viewers since the new fall season began, the networks need “to catch a break,” the newspaper says. “The election did, on most nights, take away from the urgency to view prime-time television,” NBC Executive VP Mitch Metcalf told the paper.
