Koppel to ‘Meet the Press’?

With Ted Koppel ending his contract with Discovery Channel, the Baltimore Sun says his next job could be moderating “Meet the Press.” “He is certainly one of the few TV journalists with the interviewing skills, seriousness of purpose and breadth of political knowledge to carry on where the late Tim Russert left off,” the paper says. Newsday figures the best reason not to give Koppel the job would be the big salary he’d cost NBC. But Koppel tells the Los Angeles Times he’s not interested in getting into a “weekly grind.”

  1. Ted Koppel would be an excellant choice for Meet the Press.
He may not want the weekly grind, but the public would surely benefit from his contributions.
No matter the cost, he is worth it and NBC’s ROI would be evidence of that fact.
