An expletive uttered by Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Chase Utley before an adoring crowd at a championship celebration last week caused local media outlets covering the event to apologize almost immediately after the profanity made it on air despite a tape delay of several seconds, the Philadelphia Enquirer reports. Utley’s remark about the Major League Baseball team being “world f****** champions” made it on air on all of the city’s major broadcast TV affiliates as well as some radio stations, the newspaper says.
