PPV Revenue Down for WWE

Nov 7, 2008  •  Post A Comment

World Wrestling Entertainment is taking a beating from the weak economy, Daily Variety reports. Its pay-per-view revenue fell by 13% for the third quarter, which saw three high-profile WWE broadcasts—“The Great American Bash,” “SummerSlam” and “Unforgiven”—take in $16.4 million. However, the sports entertainment giant saw a 3% rise in digital media revenue and the price of its TV rights fees, which jumped from $22.8 million to $24.4 million.
