PBS interviewer Charlie Rose and “NBC Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams earn kudos from the New York Times‘ TV Decoder blog for their transparency in discussing staff cuts that are rocking the media industry. Rose on a recent show announced the departure of some of the show’s staffers, saying they had dedicated their lives to improving the content. Williams acknowledged cuts to his news staff on a blog, saying that it’s painful to watch colleagues lose jobs, even if the media economy dictates the cuts.
