Jim Popkin, NBC News reporter and senior investigative producer out of the network’s Washington, D.C., bureau, is accepting a buyout from his parent company as part of NBC News’ recent round of layoffs at the office, TVNewser reports. Popkin was behind the NBC News Investigative Unit, created after 9/11, the site adds.
