KRON Cancels Interview With Authors

San Francisco TV station KRON canceled an interview with the authors of “No Time to Think: The Menace of Media Speed and the 24-hour News Cycle,” a book which is critical of television news, LostRemote.com reports. KRON news director Aaron Pero wrote that he was not interested in promoting a book that’s critical of his business.

  1. Heaven forbid a News Director should be concerned about a publication that is critical of an industry that has lost it’s ethical compass. Let’s face it. Stations are in a hurry to be first on the air with a story, even if they get it wrong. Further more, most News Directors run their news rooms based on their own political ideology, not what it factual and accurate. It’s usually factual with a slant, including those facts that suit the ND’s political leanings. That is miles away from accurate.
