‘Lipstick’ Needs Fans to Turn Off DVRs

NBC is looking to see if its series “Lipstick Jungle” can attract more of its fans to watch live on Friday nights before deciding whether to cancel it, the New York Times says. Advertisers prefer live viewers because they can’t fast-forward through the ads. “There is incredible passion for this show at NBC, and there is incredible passion from fans,” Teri Weinberg, executive VP of NBC Entertainment, tells the paper. “But we need to find some evidence in the numbers as we go forward. We have a magnifying glass on the show.”
