William Blinn, whose television writing credits include “Roots” and “Rawhide,” will be honored in February by the Writers Guild of America West with its Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television, the Hollywood Reporter says. In addition for writing for such series as “Starsky & Hutch,” “Fame” and “Eight is Enough,” Mr. Blinn co-wrote Prince’s film “Purple Rain,” the Reporter says.
