The Screen Actors Guild’s New York leaders want the group’s strike authorization vote to be called off because of the faltering economy and are seeking to replace its contract negotiating committee, Daily Variety reports. SAG President Alan Rosenberg has called an emergency national board meeting for Friday in Hollywood, and is asking the New York representatives attend. Separately, SAG responded to an Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers ad running in the trades Monday, calling the studio’s claims “a great fiction,” says DeadlineHollywoodDaily.
