WNBC-TV, NBC’s flagship station in New York, will undergo a series of technological upgrades in order to boost its content offerings, Daily Variety reports. The station is eyeing providing more news content to Web sites, taxi cabs, grocery stores and hospital waiting rooms, among others. The project will cost $15 million but also will involve a series of cost-cutting moves, including letting go of several news veterans, the trade paper says.
