’60 Minutes’ Lands First Hero Pilot Interview

CBS announced that Chesley Sullenberger, the pilot who successfully landed his US Airways jet in the Hudson River, will be interviewed first on “60 Minutes” by Katie Couric, the Associated Press reports. NBC News, which last week thought Matt Lauer of “Today” would interview the pilot first, wasn’t pleased with the decision, the wire service says. “What Captain Sullenberger did in the cockpit on Flight 1549 was heroic and admirable. Unfortunately, people close to him have not acted nearly as admirably,” a statement from NBC says.
