SNL Kagan predicts local TV stations’ revenue from retransmission fees for cable and satellite companies will triple in the next four years, MediaPost reports. Local TV stations pulled in $487.5 million for retransmission fees in 2008, and that amount could reach $1.3 billion in four years, which is good news for local stations facing lower ad sales projections, the site says.
